California’s Wildfire – The Appreciation Of Oxygen
Posted on 25. Oct, 2007 by Per Bristow in Uncategorized
My heart goes out to everyone affected by the California wildfires, including the many fire fighters working day and night with respiratory problems as likely consequences. I am not in any immediate danger of the fires, but the air quality is horrendous. Parks are closed, ash is falling from the sky ,and the light has a constant orange glow to it, as the sun’s rays try to cut through the smoke layers.
This is a time when I sure appreciate oxygen. What if we had this kind of air all the time? What if we had clean air all the time – cleaner than what we are used to here in Los Angeles? Unfortunately, many don’t get much circulation of oxygen through their bodies even if they live in clean air – simply because of their breathing patterns. Many sit all day and few really train to enrich their breathing.
Todays is not the day to start engaging in deep breathing exercises – you are free to procrastinate a couple of more days (if you live here in LA that is). However, as the skies clear, let’s really appreciate our body’s need for oxygen. Let’s work for a cleaner planet and let’s breathe. Aaaaaaahh.
